Our most complex project to date. Formerly the Fenwick department store, this building served for decades as the city’s centrepiece within the bustling Market Street. The site was purchased with planning permission for 83 serviced apartments with a further 20,000 sqft in mixed use commercial space.
The team meticulously re-engineered the planning on site and achieved an uplift from 83 rooms to 121 + 20,000 sqft of mixed commercial space. Today, the site contains a hub of activity. The 121 room Gresham Aparthotel has fast become one of the most popular hospitality destinations in the city. The commercial spaces house a 12,000 sqft co-work facility operated by Leicester city council with the remaining space a good mixture of restaurants, skin care, and offices for an architectural practice.
